We know you have a lot of questions, and for most of you this is the first time you've booked a band. So here are the answers to commonly asked questions.
  • What is included when booking Dat Band?

Professional musicians & vocalists with sound tech, top notch sound and lighting systems, customized play list per your direction, microphones for toasts and speeches as well as DJ & MC services throughout the evening. Cocktail hour musicians can be added for an additional charge. When planning for live music, DJ services and/or announcements during cocktail hour and dinner, please keep in mind that the band's sound equipment is permanently placed next to the dance floor.

  • What is the instrumentation of the band?

Male vocalist, keyboards, electric guitar, bass guitar, trumpet/flugelhorn, saxophone, and drums.

  • What type of music is your specialty?

From 70's, 80's and 90's, Rock, Funk, R&B. We have something for everyone.

  • How many years of professional experience do you have?

Our musicians each have 15 years or more of professional experience.

  • What type of events does the band usually play for?

Our calendar is comprised of weddings, corporate events, festivals, fundraisers, private parties and a few club dates.

  • Can your band act as master of ceremonies?

Absolutely! We will MC the entire event.

  • What happens when the band is not playing or on break?

We always DJ music whenever the band isn't playing. This is a great time to play those special requests not part of the band's repertoire.

  • Do you take long breaks?

No. Breaks are always kept to a minimum. Our breaks are usually timed to facilitate announcements, toasts, bouquet toss, garter toss or special dances.

  • Will the music be too loud for guests to talk?

You control the volume at your event. If it's loud then please let us know so that we can adjust the levels to suit your preferences.

  • We have a special song that isn't on your list. Can Dat Band learn it?

We are willing to learn a new song if it fits our instrumentation and we have time to prepare. There are exceptions to this service so please be sure to discuss the request up front.

  • How would Dat Band dress for my event?

We typically wear business casual attire or dark suits and ties. The band is able to dress to fit the occasion or theme. It's up to you.

  • What is the payment/cancellation policy for weddings or corporate events?

We require a $250 deposit to hold the date. Balance is due no later than the day of your event. Deposit is refundable upon cancellation up to 6 months prior to the contracted date. Within 6 months of the contracted date the deposit is non-refundable and forfeited upon cancellation.

  • How do I book Dat Band for my event?
